Taiwan is known for their boba milk tea – different flavours of their tea infused with milk and tapioca pearls. But actually, Taiwan gets to serve good coffee as well. As someone who loves coffee, I make sure to visit different cafes in a certain country I get to visit. Thankfully, I got the chance to visit Taiwan and I got the opportunity to visit Drip Cafe.
Drip Cafe, I believe, is a third wave coffee shop. Located near the MRT Station in Da’an District, Drip Cafe offers a variety of food, coffee, and tea. With my experience in this cafe, this will surely make people’s experience (esp. millennials) an unforgettable one.
Staffs in Drip Cafe were very kind and hospitable. As a first timer in their cafe, they assisted me to my chosen seat and guided me throughout the whole process on how to order. They gave me the menu and told me that once I’m ready to order, all I have to do is go to the counter, say my orders, and give my payment. I also noticed that there is a certain number of hours you can stay in the cafe since the cafe is usually jam-packed. The staffs of the cafe will inform you if your time is up.
The first time I’ve been to this cafe, I suddenly fell in love with the interiors. Interior of the place had an industrial design. Located at the middle of the cafe was a huge table with an instaggramable tree in it. They used flasks as a means to serve water to customers. The place was perfect for some alone time and conducive for a working environment. There were ample amounts of plugs located in every corner which makes it easy for people to charge their laptop or cellphone.
Throughout my visits in Drip Cafe, I got the chance to try the following:
Americano (Hot) : It was just your usual taste of Cafe Americano
Creamy Kimchi Pork (NT$240): Spaghetti based noodles with a mixture of kimchi and pork. It had a good twist to it. Spiciness was just right.
Iced Latte (NT$130): I loved how they made their iced latte addicting to drink. Too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture of it
Iced Caramel Macchiato (NT$140): I don’t usually drink caramel based coffee but with this drink, I enjoyed it.
Plus points too by the way that this branch is just a walking distance to the hotel where we stayed at!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Drip Cafe is a third wave coffee shop worth going back for. I wasn’t able to try their other dishes, especially their desserts, since we didn’t have time anymore. The next time I’m back in Taiwan, I will definitely try their dessert section!
