Bullying

Bullying – one who is habitually cruel to others who seem to be or are weak. (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

I am so sure that all of us have experienced bullying – be it via cyber bullying, physically, emotionally etc. It has been shown that there are people who like to bully to bring down the confidence of the person who’s experiencing to be bullied. Bullying stops people from doing the things they want to do and they aren’t able to show who they really are as people just because someone wants to destroy them.

I decided to make this as my next blog topic because I have experienced to be bullied as well. One was back in grade school around the 6th grade. It stopped for a few years then went back when I was in my 3rd year of high school then stopped. It went back again when I was in college, specifically 2nd year college. All of these are most on false rumours and cyber bullying, mainly on the website ask.fm.

In this post, I won’t be sharing my stories on how I was bullied. Instead, I want to share some tips on how to stop bullying. It was through these tips that actually made me become to be a stronger person.

1.    Talk to someone. This can be your parents, guardians, friends or even your school guidance counselor. Everytime I get to have problems, I always make sure I share it to my parents or my friends. Through sharing, they were able to help me become to be more confident with myself. They would always give me advices to make myself feel better.

2.    When bullied in school, ALWAYS be with your friends. Your friends will always be there for you no matter what. If they are your true friends, then they will always be ready to defend you. They should be able to know who you really are as a person.

3.    IGNORE. This truly works. Bullies love to bully you because they feel that they are more powerful and they become to be so happy when they see you at your lowest point. When you see the bully, make sure that you always have your head up high and show to him/her that you did not get affected with what he/she said or did to you. Soon, he or she will stop bullying you and get another target. I always say to myself that these people bully me because they are jealous with what I have and are not contented with their lives.

4.    Treat them kindly. I know that it’s a hard thing to do but I assure you that everything will turn out great. This just shows that you have no intention of being plastic to them. I am sure that you don’t want bad karma to happen to you.

So far, these 4 tips really helped me avoid those people who bullied me. I do hope that this will help you avoid those bullies and make you have a nice and fresh life. 🙂
