Typhoon Haiyan/Bagyong Yolanda

It has almost been a week since this terrible storm happened in the Philippines & I still can’t believe that some places in the Visayas area still haven’t received any aid. I am thankful that my family didn’t experience this crazy storm when we were in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan last Saturday. But to actually think that some parts of Palawan and other Visayas area badly got affected truly breaks my heart. Watching the news and seeing updates via facebook, I can’t do anything but just sit on my chair and sympathize with my fellow countrymen. There even came a point in my life that I really got traumatized with what’s happening. I temporarily stopped watching the news & i would just get teary eyed all of the sudden. I am the type of person that when I want to help someone, I would be there for them. I would really want to go to those places that badly got affected like Leyte. I would want to help distribute goods and help these people rise and make them realize that this is not the end for them.

Just a while ago, I saw this news via facebook that an 88 year old man dies in Leyte because no aid has come for them. I mean seriously?! What takes these people so long to actually distribute goods to the affected areas?! I understand that it’s hard but they should have strategized to make everything in a fast pace. I am also sure that the government are one of the factors as to why everything is a slow process. I guess they’re too greedy for money that they would take it slow. I’m just disappointed with the Philippine government right now. When can they ever learn to stop being corrupt & for once, just stop thinking about themselves & help those people in need !
